Eco Club in ESPS
Euston Street Primary School has a hard working Eco Committee that work to ensure our school is as eco conscious as possible. They meet weekly during lunch time to upkeep the green space and vegetation as well as conducting frequent litter picks in the playground and recycling classroom litter.
Over the past few years they have worked hard to retain the Eco Green Flag Award and increase biodiversity and planting in our inner city school. Most recently the Eco Committee have taken part in the One Million Trees Project, growing saplings from seed and redistributing these across Ni, in order to:
- reduce carbon;
- improve air quality;
- reduce flooding;
- increase urban cooling;
- support and enhance biodiversity; and
- improve physical and mental health and wellbeing.
Our ESPS Eco Code is:
Obey recycling rules
Understand how to help the environment
Reduce, reuse, recycle
Plants in our school grounds
Love our school environment
Always try to walk, scoot or cycle
Never waste paper
Everyone respect our Earth
Take responsibility
