We were learning about the popular Punjabi Festival of Lights, called Lohri, that takes in India on 13th January. This festival is to celebrate the end of the dark winter season and welcome the longer lights days ahead. Many children go door to door collecting sweets and Jaggery and they have bonfires, feasts and wear bright coloured clothing.
