Today the Year 5 children enjoyed a visit from our local Knock Fire Station. The firefighters delivered the Safety Team Schools program teaching the children the dangers of fire and how to make their homes safer.
The classes found out about the main 5 causes of house fires, ways to prevent fires in our homes, developing a safe bedtime routine and discussed an escape plan. Lots of preventive measures to think about! Then we got to experience the fire engine and investigate all the apparatus, use the heat detector and even wear the helmet! A great visit.
