Maths Week
We have recently celebrated maths week in school. The theme this year was real life experiences. The children were engaged in active learning to reinforce that maths is important in every day life and not just in school. Nursery went to Stormont to look for numbers and shapes. Year 1 went on a number hunt in their local environment. Year 2 went to Tesco to spend money on healthy food. They each got a receipt and change. Year 3 focussed on weight by measuring ingredients to make cupcakes. Year 4 also went to Tesco. They worked in groups to make a shopping list with a particular budget. Year 6 organised a healthy tuck shop for Key Stage 2. Year 7 made and sold bracelets during the maths week.
