We have come back to school with a bang after our holidays and we are making fantastic progress in Year 2! Look at some of the hard work we have been doing in class this month so far.

Human word building - we put the letters in the correct order to make a word.

We can recognise rhyming words. Here we are using the rhyming wheel to make a list of words that rhyme during Task Board.

Sentence building - we are learning to use capital letters and full stops.

Task Board activity - matching the words that rhyme.

We have been learning about all the different coins and being able to make different amounts up to 20p.

Money piggy banks - we were able to put the correct coins in the bank to make the amount shown.

We sorted all the coins and were able to describe similarities and differences between them.

We used our counting in 2s to count sets of 2p coins.

Using coins to make the amount shown on the card.

We played literacy and numeracy games on the laptops to support our learning. We really loved playing games against other people in the class.

Setting up a toy shop and pretending to be the shopkeeper and customer to help us with our money work.

Feed the Penguin word game - we could sound out the 4-letter word on the fish and feed it to the penguin when we had read it.
