New fence starting next week!

27th Oct 2017

Update on the new school perimeter fence.

I was informed yesterday that the Education Authority will be starting work on our new red perimeter school fence during the half term holiday next week (30th October – 5th November). They will be digging the holes for the new fence posts while the school is closed next week.

When we return to school they will be putting up the new fence panels. They have told me that we do not need to make many changes to drop off and pick up at the moment as the old fence will stay in place while they put the new fence up behind it on the street side. They will only take down the old fence once the new one is finished. Most work will be done on the outside of the school fence. We will change where pupils play in the playground if we need to during break and lunch so that they are never near any work being carried out.

Please be patient while the new fence is being constructed but the impact on our day to day should be minimal. The end result will be a safer and more modern fence that will also help the appearance of the school for everyone.

Thank you.
